Hi, I’m Amanda Fisher.  An award-winning CFO and cash flow financial educator.  I help modern business owners improve their cash flow, increase their profits, comply with carbon reporting requirements and reduce their carbon footprint.

I’ve been in business since the mid-1980s, and during the last 40 years have seen my fair share of strategies transition in and out of fashion. The one constant has always been the importance of understanding what your business numbers are telling you.

Starting my career at a mid-tier Sydney accounting firm in 1978, I went on to get my CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification by 1984 and then 10 years later started my own business.

Like most first-time business owners, I had a steep learning curve ahead of me. 

From managing staff, learning how to market my business, taking care of clients, and just keeping the doors open, it all gave me an appreciation of the tenacity it takes to be a business owner.

In 2000, I sold my first business and spent the next seven years as a financial controller working with companies in a variety of industries. Missing the buzz of business ownership, I bought into another practice and bought out the other two partners.

Then, in 2015, I decided to focus on helping business owners unscramble their numbers for increased cash flow and better business outcomes.  I sold my practice and decided to focus on the education of business owners through speaking and writing. Under the guidance of Australia’s most prolific business authors, Andrew Griffiths, I’ve written not one but four books and contributed to others.

I consider myself lucky to have grown up in three countries: Australia, England and Canada. It was as a teenager in Canada that I first developed an interest in the environment, ecosystems and the impact humans have made on the planet.

Along with a passion for numbers, I have a keen interest in business as a whole and a long-standing interest in safeguarding our natural resources whilst ensuring businesses are profitable.

I value mentors and have sought out and engaged the mentorship of some of the best business minds in Australia and overseas. My strong desire to add value fuels my urgency to pass on my knowledge to others.

My unique blend of business intrigue, interest in nature and a deep understanding of the numbers makes me the “secret weapon” for any business owner.
